Position Overview: The
Pool/Beach Attendant is responsible for the maintenance of all beach/pool stations assuring safety and cleanliness while providing exceptional customer service to all residents. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Sets up umbrellas, loungers, and other pool furniture.
- Closes all umbrellas prior to rainstorm or high winds.
- Observes and patrols the pool and enforces safety regulations.
- Assists swimmers from water when in danger.
- Provides excellent service consistent with the property's standard operating procedures and brand attributes.
- Greets all guests upon arrival, distributes towels, offers assistance with seating, delivers consistent guest service, exceeds guest expectations
- Assists with poolside Tiki/BBQ during hours of operation
- Takes ownership of all resident requests and complaints, tries to resolve issues immediately, and follows up to ensure the residents' satisfaction.
- Ensures swimming pools and the complete pool deck area are clean at all times and reports any maintenance issues to the engineering department.
- Ensures the pool deck is swept and watered down
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of pool deck and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, towels, replacing flags, and cleaning signs.
- Identifies and reports defects throughout the pool and spa area, notifying supervisors and concerned departments immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment or processes that negatively affect the operations.
- Provides residents with towels, shade, refreshments
- Clears used towels and trash.
- Enforces safety protocols as set out by the resort or hotel.
- Monitors the activity of residents and ensures their safety.
- Manages the swimming pool cleaning schedule and performs daily inspections.
Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year experience in the hospitality industry.
- Valid/active First Aid and CPR certification.
- CPO Certification.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions
- Knowledge of swimming pool equipment sufficient to be able to perform minor maintenance work on the equipment.
- Knowledge of pool facilities such as length and depth of all pools.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit, good swimming abilities, and able to perform physical labor in harsh weather conditions.
- Ability to move and lift heavy furniture and equipment.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Consistent professional appearance and pleasant demeanor.
