Internal Maintenance handles repairs and preventative maintenance for company-owned equipment, while Independent Contractor Maintenance provides tailored support for owner-operators. External and Breakdown Maintenance minimizes downtime with roadside assistance and repair partnerships. Corporate Maintenance oversees fleet strategy, cost control, and maintenance programs. Equipment Sales and Purchasing ensures the right equipment is sourced and sold to meet fleet needs. Compliance and Licensing manage regulatory requirements, while Fuel optimizes efficiency and cost control. Together, these teams keep our fleet dependable and ready to serve customers across North America.The Fleet Maintenance Manager reports to the Manager - Maintenance. Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)Job Family: Maintenance professionals oversee the inspection, repair and upkeep of equipment, machinery, facilities and infrastructure within an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of assets, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. They also may analyze data, identify failure patterns, develop maintenance strategies and implement reliability improvement initiatives.Job Summary: The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees preventative maintenance, collaborates with Operations to limit service interruptions, supports drivers in resolving maintenance issues, manages external service providers, and maintains proactive communication to provide updates on maintenance progress and delays.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Preventative Maintenance – Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime, leveraging advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.Operations Partnership – Lead cross-functional teams to integrate maintenance schedules with operational objectives, ensuring seamless service delivery and minimal interruptions.Downtime Reduction – Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, utilizing data analytics to identify and address recurring maintenance issues proactively.Vendor Oversight – Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external service providers, negotiating repair invoices, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements and cost efficiency.Communication – Facilitate effective communication across departments and with external partners, providing regular updates on maintenance progress, delays, and strategic initiatives.Accountability & Reliability – Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needsExperience and Requirements:High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferredSuccessful completion of a CRST background check and drug screenPreferred:Experience managing fleet maintenance operations or vendor repair programsStrong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and DOT complianceProven ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external partnersSkilled in reducing downtime through proactive problem-solving and resource coordinationAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailThe CRST Core Values: Safety at the Core of All We Do – Integrity in Every Decision and Action – Commitment to the Success of Employees, Customers, Agents, Contractors, and Communities.EEO Statement: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
