Pay Scale: According to Years of Experience


Requirements: Must be at least 21 and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must pass a drug test and background check.

Duties:

1. Assist with safe boarding and exiting of the bus to include buckling of seat belts, car seats, harnesses.

2. Monitor and support the student throughout the bus route to ensure comfort and safety.

3. Respond appropriately to student needs, including monitoring the g-tube and notifying the bus driver or designated school staff if concerns arise.

4. Maintain clear communication with transportation staff and the student's educational team.

5. Assumes responsibility for the sanitary condition of the bus. Cleans bus daily and washes the bus, at least monthly.

6. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports behavior problems and student damage to the bus to the driver.

7. Support a positive and respectful environment on the bus.

8. Follow all district safety procedures and training guidelines.

9. Exercises responsible leadership at all times and enforces regulations on the bus.

10. Transports only authorized students.

11. Reports all bus incidents and complete required reports.

12. Participates in training programs as required. Training in g-tube care will be provided (prior experience is a plus).

13. Communicates effectively with parents, students, co-workers, emergency personnel and school system employees.

14. Possesses and maintains valid and appropriate clearance/background check as may be required for this position.

15. Follows work schedule and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
